MOOG MUSIC From the mid-1960's through the early 1980's, Kingsley's work with electronic music centered around the Moog Synthesizer. Invented by Dr. Robert Moog around 1966, this large, modular synth involved several distinct modules linked together by tens (sometimes hundreds) of patch cords which would route sounds produced by oscillators through a network of filters and effects. This complex matrix provided an unprecedented flexibility in sound design and made the Moog Synthesizer an icon of electronic music culture. Kingsley is regarded as one of the foremost exponents of the Moog Synthesizer. Using this new tool, his projects ranged from the serious to the silly, but always produced work of unique quality. Examples of Kingsley's Moog music include his album "Music To Moog By" as well as the hit song "Popcorn." Some images, audio clips and links are listed below.
